Thank you for your interest in CESS membership!
We are a vibrant community of scholars, professionals, institutions, and interested persons from across the globe who share an interest in advancing the study and understanding of Central Eurasia.
As a member of CESS, you are a part of a global Central Eurasian studies community which fosters communication and the cultivation of scholarship in the field. Membership brings tangible benefits, too:
Present at CESS conferences
Members enjoy greater engagement with our conferences through the option to propose and, if accepted, present panels and papers. Members also receive significant discounts on our conference registration fees.
Subscribe to Central Asian Survey, Central Asian Affairs and Europe-Asia Studies at reduced prices
In 2020, Central Asian Survey will be available at a discounted rate for CESS members and for the first time, available either as electronic copies at just $24 for the year or as hard copy (with electronic copies included) for $44. Members can add an electronic/print subscription to Central Asian Survey when taking out or renewing their CESS membership.
The 2020 hard copy subscription price for Central Asian Affairs has also been frozen at $71 for CESS members, a 30% discount on the cost price. Members can add a subscription to Central Asian Affairs when taking out or renewing their CESS membership.
Since 2019, CESS members now also have the option to subscribe to the hard copy of Europe-Asia Studies with a 90% discount! Subscriptions cost $91 and are taken out directly with the publisher.
Join a CESS Committee, vote in elections, or even stand for election
As a member, you can participate in the running of CESS by joining a committee and electing new representatives for the roles of Board Member and President each year. Why not consider running for election yourself?
Be published on the CESS Blog
The CESS Blog is an online communication venue for scholarship about the region, featuring guest field research reports, monthly columns, and photo essays. CESS members are encouraged to make proposals to the blog and may do so by writing to the Editor. Visit the blog for more guidelines on proposals.
