How do we conceptualize, study and engage with state borders? | Global Trialogue Forum

Date and time: Friday, April 7, 8PM Kyrgyzstan Time, 4PM CEST, 10AM EDT

The Central Eurasian Studies Society and Central Asian Scholarly Space invite you to join our new Global Trialogue Forum, where we bring scholars representing three scholarly traditions: Global West, Global South, and Central Eurasia, to share their knowledge and experiences of researching specific themes.

This week the theme for discussion is:

How do we conceptualize, study and engage with state borders?

When our world is becoming increasingly connected through transnational movements of people, goods, and ideas, the borders between nations acquire new forms, meanings, and social practices, affecting the lives of communities living and occupying territories.

This week we invite three esteemed scholars to share their experiences of studying borders:

·      Pr. Madeleine Reeves (University of Oxford, United Kingdom)

·      Pr. Decha Tangseefa (Kyoto University, Japan) and

·      Pr. Ablet Kamalov (Turan University, Kazakhstan)

Date and time: Friday, April 7, 8PM Kyrgyzstan Time, 4PM CEST, 10AM EDT
