Central Eurasian Studies Review

From 2002 to 2009, CESS published The Central Eurasian Studies Review, a scholarly review of research, developments, publications, conferences, events, and resources related to Central Eurasian scholarship and pedagogy.
CESR consisted of four sections: Perspectives; Research Reports; Conferences and Lecture Series; and Educational Resources and Developments.

Two to three issues per year were published and print copies were distributed to CESS members, while digital copies were published on CESS’ website. The University of Wisconsin’s Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia served as the institutional host.

The journal is no longer in publication– the last issue published was Volume 8 No. 1 (Spring 2009)– but open access historical volumes are maintained digitally here.

Throughout its existence, Virginia Martin served as the the Chief Editor of the journal and the review was a product of the volunteer contributions of the members of CESS, particularly the CESR Editorial Staff.
